Pictures with Nana

I snapped a few pictures of my mom with the kids this morning.

As requested

Here are the best before and after haircut pictures I could get.

Lydia is cooking with me. It's our new favorite thing to do together. She remembers the ingredients we use too. It's really fun. Notice the long bangs and scraggly kind of curly hair.
Here she is, long scraggly hair, trying to get her milk out with my pump.
Voila! Short bangs and short hair!
The bangs really are straight, but she has to learn not to push them off her forehead now. I think she'll get used to them.
Here's Henry smiling up at Daddy.

First Hair Cut!

At 2 years 2 1/2 months, I finally took Lydia to get her first hair cut. She says it hurts whenever I touch her hair with a comb so I was a little worried she would not like the hair cut. We talked about it for a few days so she'd be ready. She was scared at first, but a strawberry lollipop helped ease her fears (her first lollipop too)!
She had about 6 inches of length cut off the back and got really short bangs (great for the pool). What a big girl!
What's next? Getting rid of the pacifier. I've had to go to her the last three nights to help her find her paci. Nana tried to get Lydia to share her paci but Lydia told her no.

Nana: Can Nana have your paci?
Lydia: No
Nana: But I don't have a paci.
Lydia: It's in your bed.

Certainly Lydia doesn't really think adults have pacis in their bed too! It's time to go.

Hi, hello again, and bad bye

Lydia loves to greet Henry with kisses and a "Hi Henry."
This week we said hello again to an old toy. A new toy to Lydia...but a very old toy to my brothers and sisters. Amy-check it out! It still works.
Lydia's best friends, Claire and Carson Countryman, are moving to Kingwood at the end of the month. We are so sad to see our playmates go, but we hope to visit them in their new house soon! From our perspective, we say "bad bye" because there's nothing good about your friends moving farther away. We'll miss seeing you every week.

8 Week Comparison

Henry was 8 weeks on June 2. He weighed 14 pounds 10 ounces! I took pictures to compare his features to Lydia at the same age. The biggest difference I noticed was how I could not get Henry to smile for the camera, but I had several pictures of Lydia with smiles! Oh well.
Tell me what you see similar or different!

Turning the corner

Henry is almost 8 weeks old now and is feeling much better since he past the first 6 weeks. We praise the Lord for giving Henry (and us) relief from colic so quickly. His reflux is well controlled with medication. While he still looks pretty serious in the picture below, he generously gives out smiles and coos all day long now!
Smiling on his changing table
Lydia and Henry ready for a slumber party
Talking on his play mat
Lydia's dress up game gone wrong. She's wearing daddy's socks and shoes (she calls this get up her "boots"). Oh dear.

I feed him

Today, Lydia sat in my nursing spot with my nursing pillow and declared to me, "I feed him, mommy." I asked her to show me how, and she just lifted up her dress! I thought it was so cute that I went ahead and put Henry on the nursing pillow.
She put her hand behind his head to help him find her "tummy" (yes, she thinks the milk comes from the tummy). When I took Henry off the pillow, Lydia reminded me he needed the other side too. Hilarious!
