More family fun

We have been so blessed lately to have our family visit us. Amy brought Cole (2 1/2) and Blake (1) to spend a few days with us. Lydia and Cole are best friends, but Henry and Blake could not have cared less about each other! We know they'll be great buddies when they are a little older.

Here's our best shot (Stephanie included)!
We thought it would be fun to do a little photo shoot of the boys in matching outfits. This was the best picture. What a flop!
Henry and Cole looked so cute together with their super blond hair.
Henry wanted to give Cole lots of kisses!
We did a little splashing...
...a little climbing (even carrying a purse)...
...and lots of playing together!
Thanks Amy, Cole...
and Blake for visiting us!
We love you soooo much!

Washington DC

The kids gave me a terrible sinus cold just in time for Dan and I to head to DC for a week. I spent the first half of each day out sightseeing and the second half of each day sleeping. It was nice to sleep as much as I wanted without having to take care of anyone else, but I really missed out on talking to my hubby (my throat was too sore) and eating good food (no taste)! Here are a few highlights of our trip.
Julia Child's Kitchen at the Smithsonian

This terribly dark and grainy picture is actually taken really close to Prince Charles who greeted tourists in the Supreme Court building on his way to an event. He just stopped to tease some secretaries for stepping away from their desks to see him. I didn't get too close though...didn't want to get him sick!

Happy Easter Day

We were so happy to have some of our family join us for Easter morning service and lunch. The service at Second Baptist was a beautiful celebration of our Saviour's triumph! Lydia was drilled over and over to say "Jesus is alive" (I know because I'm her Sunday School teacher)!

Lydia declared she needed a baseball set so I bought this for her. She loved to place her feet properly, tap the bat on the ground, then barely knock the ball off the tee. I hope she gets a little more aggressive with this sport!

First Time Visitors

Christina and Brett (and Josh, Matt, and Brenna) came for their first visit to my house in April. It was SOOO fun! I only wish they could have stayed longer.
Christina and I brought the kids to Hermann Park to ride the train and have a picnic at the park. Henry squealed happily during the train ride.

Henry got a sprinkler from his cousins for his birthday. It's the greatest post afternoon nap toy.
We also had a picnic and play time at a nearby splash park. It was "cold" for my kids that day, but not for Christina's northerner kiddos. They LOVED the water, especially Brenna who has no fear.
We even spent a day at the Houston Zoo, and we especially enjoyed the new African Forest.
We mostly enjoyed just being together! Lydia and Brenna looked so cute in their matching dresses, and we mus7 have looked like a site on our family walks!

Crawfish Party

We enjoyed the Westcott's Annual Crawfish Boil birthdays party, celebrating Ben, Adam, Bill, Lydia, and Henry's birthdays. One of Adam's friends took some really cute pics.

April Birthdays

This little cutie turned 3 on April 3rd. We enjoyed a long weekend with my parents in Corpus where we celebrated birthdays.
This little doodle turned 1 on April 7th. Walking, talking, clapping, and waving! Apparently he enjoyed his birthday cupcake without hands!
Lydia pulled carrots from nana's garden and ate them (sans clothes) while she and Henry helped water the garden.
Yum yum, dirt.

Henry really loved golfing.
