Summer Vacation

We spent a week in Telluride, Colorado with some of my family. Christina and Brett brought Josh and Matt. We loved played with the boys. Matt was especially sweet with Lydia and always wanted to give her a kiss while she was feeding. Josh eats string cheese from his arm (I've got a picture of it in the slideshow). Brian and Lauren brought Emily and Lizzie. Emily was so good with Lydia; I need to have her come over to play more often! Lizzie was content to ride in her back pack carrier for hours at a time. Stephanie and Jon came and shared a room with us two nights (sorry for the baby waking you up so much). Then my mom was there the whole time and my dad a few nights too. It was a packed house! We loved walking around Telluride village and riding the gondola back and forth between Telluride and Mountain Village, where we stayed. The weather was a delightful break from the Texas summer, and the views sure beat anything in Houston! We sure missed Amy and Jeremy (Amy was too pregnant to travel) and Brent and Cate (both taking summer classes). Enjoy the pictures!

Bee Cave Wedding

We went to Bee Cave, TX (just outside of Austin) for Matt Timberlake's wedding. Matt is one of Dan's best friends, the three of us went to high school together. The wedding was held outdoors, but the location also had old buildings that looked like a western town. The reception was in one of the old buildings. The groomsmen wore seersucker suits...kind of funny to see all these really tall swimmer guys in seersucker. Dan had a great time seeing his buddies! Congrats Matt and Lindzi!

A foster niece

Wonderful news! My brother, Brian, and his wife, Lauren, are FINALLY and officially foster parents to Lizzie. Lizzie is a beautiful 15 month old that they taken care of on and off for about 6 months. After being told one thing then another then another, they just found out she's being placed with them (which is a MAJOR step towards maybe being able to adopt her)! My neice, Emily (6 years old) will be a great big sister for Lizzie. You should see these girls play in the pool, they are fearless! I'll have to take some pics and post them soon.

I finally saw it!

For the past week I've noticed my little Liddy Bug figured out how to roll over in her crib. Then yesterday, I finally saw her roll over while we were playing together! It's the little things these days that make me so happy! Here she is in action.

Our Trip to Atlanta

Dan, Lydia, and I flew to Atlanta and drove to Buckhead, Georgia on Friday to visit Dan's grandparents (Papa and Nanny). I'd love to report that flying with a 3 month old was easy...but that would be lying. I was smart enough, however, to capture the Lydia's first flight with pictures at the start of the trip while she was still happy! Dan's parents also came for the weekend. So we had 4 generations together. We walked to a nearby farm and pet the horses. The picture is dark and grainy, but look at Lydia's face when the horse came close to her...she wants that horse to step back! Lydia entertained the whole family with her talking and squealing.

Dan's Nanny is having back surgery next month, please pray for the doctors and nurses that care for her during the operation and recovery. Dan and I are glad we made the trip to see Papa and Nanny. (My suitcase decided to stay and did not make it home.)

Wednesdays

My sister, Stephanie, watches Lydia on Wednesdays. This gives me time to run errands (and meet girlfriends for lunch) without dragging Lydia around when she should be napping. When I came home last Wednesday and asked Steph how things went...this is what she showed me. Looks like my girls have tons of fun together!
