Egg Hunt and Park

This was about as happy as Lydia was all weekend. She refused to smile or even look at the camera. What a grouch! We joined our neighborhood families for an Easter egg hunt in the morning.
After the egg hunt, we joined up with several families from our Sunday school class for a picnic in the park. It was a beautiful afternoon, and it gave me an opportunity to rest while Lydia played with the other kiddos and her daddy. Lydia and Watson loved riding in the wagon.
And she loved pulling the wagon too.
Rocking on the elephant.
Heading down the slide.

As Easter Approaches...

We had a few couples over for a passover sedar (Christian style) that explained the traditional elements and how they represent Christ as our Savior. It was a wonderful evening and dinner. Thanks to Derek and Heidi Browning for preparing all the food and directing us through the dinner.
Our passover table.
The first cup of wine.
The seder plate.
Taking out the middle matzah and hiding it until the end of the meal.
The bitter herb (horseradish) and charoset (apples, nuts, cinnamon, and honey) sandwich.

Lydia's Birthday Party

Our almost 2 year old celebrated her birthday with a few playmates this morning. We played with balls, balloons, and bubbles and enjoyed a nice lunch and cupcakes. Thanks to our friends who helped us celebrate!
Here's a picture of the kiddo cupcakes. If you know me even just a little, you are probably really impressed right now because anything craft related (ie decorating cupcakes) is NOT my thing. I guess you come around for your kids though! I still can't decide if these are cute ladybugs or creepy beetles.
And these are the cupcakes for the moms who don't want all the candies on top.
Happy Birthday, Lydia!

Celebrating Henry

A big thanks to my sweet girlfriends who gathered for dinner to celebrate Henry's upcoming arrival. I received the cutest clothes for him! We have a lot of little projects around the house to finish up this weekend...then I guess it's time to pack a hospital bag and just wait!

Spring day at the Zoo

We spent a beautiful morning at the zoo with some friends today. Lydia is getting a lot of "mommy time" before brother Henry arrives.

Congrats Marjorie and Ken

My dear friends, Marjorie and Ken, tied the knot last night in Clear Lake. The wedding ceremony was formal and included traditions from Marjorie's Filipino heritage.
The veil symbolizes God's protection over the couple, the knot symbolizes being tied together for the rest of their lives.
Here was the first hint that the reception would be a big hit with me...a table full of homemade cookies! The whole room smelled like sugar!
Marjorie, Ken, and I all started working at ConocoPhillips at the same time (2003), and we were all in the same training class. We spent three months as a group in a classroom training setting and had tons of fun together that summer. Almost everyone from the training class was at the wedding. Here are most of the girls I started with.
Joanna, me, and Dorothy. We still see Dorothy at least once a year even though she lives in Kansas now. We met for a quick lunch before the wedding started.
And here I am with the bride, Marjorie. She will be moving to North Carolina while Ken finishes graduate school. I will really miss our monthly lunch dates.

Some pictures

Here are some pictures showing what we've been up to lately. Dan took this picture on Sunday. It was cold, but Lydia really wanted to be outside. So we snuggled up in a wool blanket and enjoyed the sunshine together.
Lydia likes to wave and say "bye bye" to me before she goes to play in her cabinets. She will bring all sorts of toys in here with her!

Here she is pretending to sleep in a box. I think "night night" is one of her favorite games.

Today I put this really cute tulle skirt on Lydia. She proceeded to find all her fairy accessories to complete the outfit.
All gussied up.
Twirling!
