Happy Thanksgiving

I am especially excited for this Thanksgiving as I am the hostess for my Texas relatives. Leave me a comment with your plans for the day!

Praise the Lord for His abundant blessings!

I was inspired by several Bon Apetite ideas. Here are my cornbread and sourdough cubes drying out. I'm making cornbread according to Ben Westcott's (my brother in law) instructions. He's an amazing cook and gave me really great instructions (no measurements, just "feelings" to know the cornbread is perfect).

I am brining the turkey in a salt, cider, and spice mixture. Here's the bird soaking.
I set my table days ago. How else do you ever get to enjoy your china?
This is my $8 centerpiece.
Can you tell I'm excited?
Happy Thanksgiving!

I love it!! You are so cute :) You are just like me :) I like to plan days in advance as well as set my table about 3 days in advance (Love your table setting - so elegant!!). I have made all my pies (4 total - 2 apple, 1 Holiday Fruit Pie and 1 Pumpkin pie) today and all the sides are prepped and ready for tomorrow.

Pat (Sergio's Mom) was supposed to be coming for Thanksgiving but is sick :( So it wil just be a few people from our church that have no place to go (we opened up our home to everyone at our church). My dad is doing a big Thanksgiving Dinner in Seattle but Serg and I just want to stay home and cook our own big dinner :)

I cant wait to see all the pictures of the "big day". I hope your Thanksgiving is a blessed day.

Hi sis! Your table looked gorgeous! I heard that your food was delicious and that the pecan pie was as good as it was said to be (I still want your opinion). I'm glad you had so much fun planning and hosting... I remember the first time that you all came to my house... it was fun! I missed being there... Cole & Jeremy too :) We love you!
