Memorial Day in San Antonio

My youngest sibling, Brent, graduated from Dental School over Memorial Day weekend.  What a wonderful reason to get the whole DeSutter family together (thanks Dad DeSutter over and over and over again).  We almost had a full reunion, but Stephanie's OB said NO NO NO traveling for her at her appointment on Friday morning.  We were so sad to miss her and Jon for the weekend gathering, but God safely brought them precious baby Matheson on June 10th.

The rest of my sibling and their families were together for the weekend in San Antonio.  We stayed at the Hill Country Marriott, and it was fabulous despite the fact that we planned to swim the entire weekend but instead it rained most of the time.  It was so fun for the cousins to run like crazy around the resort.  We took advantage of any clear spots in the weather and hit the pools, slides, and lazy river.  I did a horrible job taking pictures, but I still have some to show.

It was also a special time for everyone to FINALLY get to hug and love on Christina, who just completed procedures related to Breast Cancer.  We are so thankful to God that she was able to be with us.  It was very hard for us sisters to be apart from her while she struggled through her decisions and procedures.

A special gift

Christina sent us this fun little set of counting books with Jane Austen themes!  They are the cutest and funniest little things.  Thank you!!!

Henry turns 3

On April 7th, Henry turned 3 years old.

Since it was Sunday, we had our lunch at the Country Club.  Henry started with a waffle topped with cream.
Mabel didn't want to waste a bit of her salmon and scrambled egg.  I really should teach her some better manners.

Later, we opened presents at home.  Henry and Lydia are really into pirates.

 Happy Birthday, big boy.

Lydia turns 5

Lydia turned 5 on April 3rd.  I took her out to my favorite Midland restaurant for lunch.  She was so grown up and had soup, shrimp, and vegetables.  She also devoured 3 big pieces of bread and butter!

The big 5!

Easter Fun

We were so blessed to have Ben (Dan's brother) bring Grant (5 1/2 years) and Devin (2 years) to Midland for Easter.  While the adults had a perfectly good time, the kids were THRILLED to have cousin playmates.

A few hours after our guests arrived, Henry and Lydia both came down with a tummy bug.  It wasn't our greatest moment.  Thankfully, Lydia recovered by the morning (she has a tough tummy) and was able to play the rest of the weekend.  Henry ran a fever and slept for 24 hours, only waking twice for about 20 minutes to drink water and use the potty.  While I was bummed he was sick, it sure made watching the kids easier!  Devin and Mabel played sweetly with Grant and Lydia disappeared to the play room for most of Saturday.

Nanny and Pops ordered some sugar cookies and cupcakes to enjoy.

We had a quick egg hunt before church.  Henry was perky for about one hour on Sunday, just enough time for breakfast and egg hunt!

We went to our new church, Midland Bible Church, for Easter Service then to Midland Country Club for lunch.

Ben took a great picture of Dan and I.  I was excited because it was the only picture that included me all weekend....and at least it was a good one!
