Home Group

We met up with our home group friends for lunch last weekend.  We are shocked that a year has gone by since our babies arrived (all 5 couples welcomed a baby within 6 weeks of each other).  We don't get together as much as we'd like, but we have a great time together when we do!    Here are just a few shots of the kiddos.
My little reader studied her books!

Play time and Dinner

During Amy's visit, Stephanie and Jon joined us for dinner and play time.  Lydia LOVED playing with her Uncle Jon.  After play time, we had a little dinner interruption (see pictures below with "warning" label).  Uncle Jon usually gets grossed out by a little drool, but he handeled this incident quite well (even laughed about it).

The incident.  Warning: these pictures are gross.  Cole wanted to share his recent green pea experience with me.  Digusting.  Look at the color!

Catching Up

Last week, Amy and Cole came in town for a visit.  We had a fantastic time, but it was not long enough.  I just love Cole (mostly because he cannot look at me without putting on a huge smile, flattering really)!  He's a soft, sweet, "talkative" 6 month old.  Lydia was not really interested in him (sorry Cole).  I guess she likes the older kiddos now (like cousin Emily).  Here's a recap of the visit.
Cole and Lydia are glued to the Baby Einstein video.
Lydia shares her favorite game with Cole.
"Here lil' buddy, play with this one."

Weee!  Let's go for a ride!
Lydia just wanted to play with her ducky tub during bath time. (cute buns)
We finally got her in the tub.

Cole has tons of cute rolls.
Cousin Emily joined us for a sleepover at Nana's house.  She's the GREATEST babysitter.
Amy, Cole, me, Lydia, Emily, Nana, and Paca all spent the afternoon at the Houston Livestock Show.  The kids loved the petting zoo, though Lydia was upset that I would not let her crawl around next to the baby goats.  I took Emily through "Fun on the Farm."

Emily and Amy with their dessert (caramel apple and cotton candy).
Even with all these pictures, we still missed so many opportunities to catch fun moments between the sisters and cousins.  We are so blessed to stay close with our family even when distance separates us.  Amy, Jeremy, and Cole, we'll see you in Indiana in April!

Where's Lydia

Dan and I were eating breakfast while Lydia played on the floor around us.  She crawled into the other room and things got quiet...too quiet.  Since Dan was seated where he could see the other room, I asked him what Lydia was doing.  He jumps up and says, "Oh no, she's in the toilet!"  Well, I start laughing because I have this picture in my head of Lydia sitting in a toilet.  Anway, he sits back down and says "never mind."  What?  Never mind?  Apparently she was just quietly playing with her toys like a good girl.  But Dan left the bathroom door open (against house rules), and he thought Lydia must be playing in the toilet paper.   We had a good laugh.  I was very happy that my little girl was not swimming around the toilet.  Here are some pictures of another time she was caught with the toilet paper.

A Special Valentine's Day

This is a picture of Jaimie, Emily, and me in our college apartment (I think we are trying to be Charlie's Angels or something silly).  Well, this weekend Jaimie looked much more elegant!

On Saturday, February 14th, Jaimie married Steve Moss in a beautiful ceremony at TCU in Fort Worth.  Dan and I enjoyed our night out together celebrating with Jaimie and Steve.
We caught up with Nicole and Kevin Page!
And we also got to see Jenifer and Blair Mathews!
Jenifer and Blair- thanks for chatting with us during dinner!  You are as cute as ever!

Lunch with Girlfriends

What a treat!  Dorothy (a dear friend from my ConocoPhillips days who now lives in Kansas) was in town so we met up for lunch with our other COP girls, Marjorie and Joanna.  We had so much fun catching up!  We were also amazed at much has changed since we all met in Finance New Hire Training back in 2003!  I cannot wait for our next rendezvous.
