First Time Visitors

Christina and Brett (and Josh, Matt, and Brenna) came for their first visit to my house in April. It was SOOO fun! I only wish they could have stayed longer.
Christina and I brought the kids to Hermann Park to ride the train and have a picnic at the park. Henry squealed happily during the train ride.

Henry got a sprinkler from his cousins for his birthday. It's the greatest post afternoon nap toy.
We also had a picnic and play time at a nearby splash park. It was "cold" for my kids that day, but not for Christina's northerner kiddos. They LOVED the water, especially Brenna who has no fear.
We even spent a day at the Houston Zoo, and we especially enjoyed the new African Forest.
We mostly enjoyed just being together! Lydia and Brenna looked so cute in their matching dresses, and we mus7 have looked like a site on our family walks!

Crawfish Party

We enjoyed the Westcott's Annual Crawfish Boil birthdays party, celebrating Ben, Adam, Bill, Lydia, and Henry's birthdays. One of Adam's friends took some really cute pics.

April Birthdays

This little cutie turned 3 on April 3rd. We enjoyed a long weekend with my parents in Corpus where we celebrated birthdays.
This little doodle turned 1 on April 7th. Walking, talking, clapping, and waving! Apparently he enjoyed his birthday cupcake without hands!
Lydia pulled carrots from nana's garden and ate them (sans clothes) while she and Henry helped water the garden.
Yum yum, dirt.

Henry really loved golfing.

Traveler

Last week, Aunt Steph and I helped Henry practice walking. He picked it up really quickly, and now he doesn't need any help getting started or stopping to sit down or pick up a toy. The best part of this walking video (some accuse me of poorly documenting the second child's milestones...) is his belly sticking out!

Popcorn Fun

Christina made popcorn as a treat for the kids one evening. Lydia had never seen popcorn "pop" before. The kids started on the floor, but by the time the popcorn was ready it was a party on the counter top!

Matt is so funny in this video!

Playing and Learning

While we were at Christina's, we took the kids to do several fun activities. First, we went to Cheeky Monkey, a place for climbing, sliding, crawling etc. ALL the kids loved it...but I think it was especially fun for Henry. He could hold onto the netting and "walk" all over the place!
We also spent a day at the Museum of Play in Rochester. It was so fun for kids and adults. I could spend a whole day there by myself! In Berenstain Bears Land there was a tool shed, cafe, quilt shop, dentist, and more. Outside Bear Country, Lydia's favorite areas were the old fashioned house (kitchen, especially) and the grocery store.
We needed to get out of the house one afternoon so we went to the Power Authority to check out the view of the Niagara Gorge and learn about power production and conservation. I still don't understand how electricity works...maybe next time I'll get it.
Lots of playing!!! What a fun week.

Snowy adventure

I brought Lydia and Henry to Christina's home in Lewiston, NY for a week of family and fun. We thought we'd brought spring weather since the snow melted the day after we arrived, but our snow seeking was not in vain! It snowed again...just enough to sled, shovel, and make snow angels!
